Digging the footings. My son is operating our CAT 180, a 32,000 pound excavator.
Forming the footings. We are careful to verify all corners are square.
Here is the owner, Susan Breedlove. Behind her are the ICF walls being formed.
Inside, the ICF walls being formed.
Radiant heat tubes laid in the basement.
Basement framed.
Main floor framed. Now we are ready to form the upstairs ICF walls.
Forming the upstairs ICF walls.
Exterior walls poured and completed.
Framing the roof. Once again, using plywood for greater strength and fewer toxic emissions into the house.
Installing the beamed front porch. Custom metal plates were installed later.
Completed exterior view. Metal roof and cedar board and baton siding disguise the ICF block walls.
View from the side of the garage, looking toward the rear of the house.
Hardwood floors and tile are found throughout Susan's home. This view is looking through the living room.
Fireplace with custom, hand hewn, solid lumber mantle.
Looking at the kitchen from the dining room. Tile countertops with custom tile backsplashes.
Tile entry, bath and hall.
The stairwell is made of hardwood treads and stone risers.
